Creative Shoot

A couple of weeks ago I had a vision in doing a Snow Queen Editorial. Beauty is my fav. type of photography. I like focusing on the face, When I shoot beauty, I use my macro lens. I find it to be amazing when I want to focus on just one facial feature. So it started with me on making a crown out of christmas decor and random things I found at AC. Morre. The colors that I was going for : White, Silver and Blue. The only bad part was , THE GLITTER EVERYWHERE! LOL. But the outcome came out amazing, I also used what I had at home for Makeup. No need to buy expensive makeup. I had Sam come over because she fit the look perfectly. She’s fair skinned and has beautiful red hair with freckles.

Here is the setup shot from the side. The light is coming from directly above her. Very close to her about 3 1/2 feet, I also used a reflector below her to fill in shadows.( yes thats my crappy reflector I made. I actually love it! haha) The fan was set on high to the left of me. And you can see the backlight in this image. For the rim effect.

Here is the outcome of this editorial. For photog specs. I used my tameron 90mm macro. My Nikon d600 My settings stayed the same at Iso50 f3.5 1/160th. Then my usual dodging and burning in cs6
